The Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools (BIRT) Project is an initiative designed for rich client and Web applications, and adds reporting and business intelligence features to these programs.
BIRT looks to enhance the capabilities of various reporting requirements of a typical application.
Actuate (News - Alert) Corporation has announced that the company’s BIRT is used by various government organizations to create their own BI applications. BIRT-based ActuateOne helps users to create solutions that help them in serving citizens more effectively.
Government agencies such as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Labor, U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (US PTO), and Equal Employment Opportunity Corporation (EEOC), make use of BIRT and/or ActuateOne.
The IT departments of these agencies can now analyze data, irrespective of its size or complexity.
ActuateOne can be installed in any environment and provide support for Web-based and mobile BI. According to the company, it reduces IT expenses and is an ideal choice for local, state and federal agencies.
Actuate is among the leading companies that have been working on the BIRT-project. ActuateOne products provide a common interface, which makes it easier to work across the company.
“As the Federal Government’s Big Data initiative develops, its IT officers will need to find ways to accelerate time to insight for government decision makers as well as providing relevant and useful information to citizens,” said Nobby Akiha, SVP of Marketing at Actuate. “By offering a robust combination of analysis and visualisation capabilities, with unlimited device delivery options, ActuateOne empowers government agencies to better perform both operationally and strategically.”
Recently, the company announced it was identified as a member of the 2012 Global SaaS (News - Alert) Top 250 company listing by Montclair Advisors. The company provides enterprise-level Business Intelligence (BI) with the help of BIRT onDemand.
