U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Under Secretary, Rafael Borras, and Chief Procurement Officer, Dr. Nick Nayak, have been awarded the Federal Small Business Champions of the Year awards by the Government Technology & Services Coalition (GTSC).
A major entity for small and mid-sized companies in the Federal homeland and national security market, GTSC has recognized the work of Under Secretary Borras and Dr. Nayak, who ensured that the advances, creativeness and efficiency of small businesses are passed on to the homeland security assignment.
In a statement, Kristina Tanasichuk, CEO at GTSC said, "We believe that Under Secretary Borras and Dr. Nayak have clearly demonstrated their commitment to assuring that the innovation of small companies is constantly applied to the homeland security mission. We believe that the leadership of DHS has recognized that we must have a mechanism to infuse our current system with new ideas, cutting edge technologies and actual solutions -- and small businesses are the source of that."
According to Borras, the organization is proud of DHS accomplishment carried out in association with small businesses.
