iSYS Signs Deal with Transportation Security Administration
By Rahul Arora, TMCnet Contributor
WidePoint Corporation, a provider of cloud-based telecommunications life-cycle and trusted cybersecurity management, recently announced that iSYS LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of WidePoint, will provide mobile telecom expense management services (TEMS) to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
The company signed a second option period contract with WidePoint worth approximately $11.6 million dollars over the coming 12 months. This option award brings the total contract value to approximately $33 million dollars if all options are exercised.
Founded by Jin Kang and based in McLean, VA, iSYS expanded its TEMS in May 2007 with the acquisition of Intelecel, LLC and its proprietary Intelligent Telecommunications Management System (ITMS).
The company’s broad range of government clients include the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Department of Justice, the Transportation Security Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Defense Logistics Agency, Ohio State University, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the City of Dublin, Ohio and the City of San Diego, California.
"TSA is at the forefront of federal government agencies implementing innovative mobile management solutions at the enterprise level," said Jin Kang, president of iSYS. "iSYS has been providing mobile TEM services to TSA since 2006. We look forward to another year of supporting TSA and are committed to improving government efficiency by helping to implement cost savings and optimization strategies."
"As federal, state and local government agencies continue to seek solutions for managing and optimizing their mobile capabilities and inventories, it is rewarding to see that our TEM solution continues to be the preferred choice of agencies seeking a secure, cost-effective solution," said Steve Komar, WidePoint CEO and chairman. "We also appreciate that TSA continues to see the value of the TEM program when the future of many federal IT projects has been blurred by budgeting concerns. iSYS delivers a substantial ROI to all of our government clients, enabling each agency to maximize budgets and mobile resources."
