Apriva has certified VeriFone’s new VX Evolution line of terminals for payment processing through the Apriva gateway.
The company’s gateways provide government agencies and businesses a rock-solid foundation for mobile communications security. Company officials said that mobile device users have the freedom to conduct business anywhere while maintaining security and control over their most sensitive information assets.
“The certification of the VeriFone Evolution products illustrates Apriva’s longstanding commitment to providing our customers with the widest selection of payment solutions, hardware, processing partners, and connectivity options in the industry,” said Robert Martin, senior vice president for attended merchant solutions at Apriva.
Thanks to the certification, the EMV-ready VX680 and VX520 are now available to VeriFone’s network of over 850 merchant acquirers that are connected via the Apriva gateway to its network of over 30 certified payment processors.
The VX 680 is a small, full-function, portable, handheld payment device with a large, color, touchscreen, and it’s NFC-enabled for contactless card and mobile device payments. The VX 520 is a rugged countertop device that handles encryption, decryption and processing at lightning speeds thanks to its powerful processor and expandable memory.
The additions of the VX680 and the VX520 are great enhancements to Apriva’s expansive device portfolio, Martin said, adding that their support of all connectivity options, dial, IP, and wireless, gives its merchant acquirer customers further options to meet the needs of their merchants.
“The VX Evolution line promises to be a compelling option for businesses that are looking for the latest EMV-ready payment technology,” he said.
As part of the product rollout, Apriva has embedded its proprietary security protocol, AprivaTalk, in both terminals to maintain security for all transactions that pass through the Apriva gateway.
To merchants and merchant acquires, AprivaTal security, when combined with the terminals’ PCI (News - Alert) PTS version 3 certification, provides confidence as the transactions are secure and compliant with the latest security and privacy standards, according to company officials.
Apriva is a provider of end-to-end wireless transactions and secure information messaging solutions that meet the exacting security and reliability requirements of financial services providers, government entities and public service sectors.
Recently, the company announced that MEI's Easitrax Advance 5000 telemeter is fully supported in its Apriva Vend cashless vending service.
