CenturyLink Secures Two Federal Communications Commission Task Orders

The Networx program from GSA (News - Alert) provides complete, best-value telecommunications that offer new technologies, industry partners and ways to achieve a more efficient and effective government. Networx lets agencies to concentrate their resources on building seamless, secure operating environments and provide access to the best technology industry has to offer.
The company received both task orders under the General Services Administration's Networx Enterprise contract. GSA's Networx program is the biggest telecommunications contract vehicle ever given by the federal government.
CenturyLink secured a task order to offer Wide Area Network (WAN) services to the FCC, which consists of private line services and Network-Based Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network Services. This WAN task order was valued at $6.99 million over the next five years, the company stated in a press release.
“One of the FCC's many missions is to protect and promote America's communications infrastructure. This means its communications provider must provide robust, secure networks that allow the FCC to capitalize on today's technology," said Diana Gowen, CenturyLink senior vice president and general manager, who oversees solutions for federal, state and local government customers. "CenturyLink is excited to deliver WAN and MTIPS solutions to the FCC and to have the agency as a customer.”
Recently, the company secured a task order from the U.S. General Services Administration that was worth $20 million over the next five years. According to the order, the company would provide Voice over Internet Protocol services to GSA Region 8, the Rocky Mountain region. The Company said that CenturyLink will provide both hosted and premises-based VoIP solutions to GSA Region 8 offices throughout Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming and Utah.
