United States Air Force Awards $1.5 Million Contract to ORBIT
ORBIT Communication Systems, a subsidiary of Orbit Technologies Ltd., has announced that the company has won a $1.5 million contract from the United States Air Force (USAF).
As per the new agreement, ORBIT has been assigned to provide maintenance; repair and support services for its Airborne Digitally-Controlled Audio System (ADAS), currently installed on the USAF's KC-135 Stratotanker aerial refueling aircrafts for the next year. Further, the USAF would replace its aging fleet of KC-135 tankers with the Boeing (News - Alert) KC-46 tankers, which are expected to enter service by 2017. The service contract with ORBIT will enable the USAF to ensure the continued high performance of their digital Communications Management Systems. "Communications management is mission-critical for our military customers, and we take pride in delivering high-quality and responsive service and support for our installed systems," said Avi Cohen, the president and CEO ORBIT Communication Systems. Cohen said that his company is committed to providing the U.S. Air Force with maintenance services for their Communication Management Systems for as long as needed to meet the operational needs of their KC-135 fleet. ORBIT's ADAS systems are know for providing the high performance, quality and reliability required by the USAF from their Communication Management Systems (CMS). The Communication Management Systems (CMS) manages the complex voice, video and data communication on board mobile platforms (airborne, seaborne and ground applications). These systems include a digital switch that works together with the routing and distribution of inbound and outbound communication on board the mobile platform, as well as an intercom that can be used among crew members, maintenance personnel and technicians. ORBIT has been supplying innovative Satellite Communications solutions as well as Tracking & Telemetry and Communications Management Systems. The company's products are deployed on board airborne, marine and land platforms with both military and civilian customers and are installed on thousands of projects with companies and organizations worldwide.
